Art of the Peaks: Drawing Together

£10.00

Description

Saturday 20 June, 9.30am to 3.30pm
National Trust Longshaw Estate

As part of Voices of the Peaks – a collaborative project bringing together members of Bollington Singers, Didsbury Singers and High Peak Singers to celebrate the founding of the Peak District National Park in 1951 – choir members are warmly invited to a special day of painting and drawing at the beautiful Longshaw Estate.

Whether you already paint regularly or simply fancy trying something creative in inspiring surroundings, this relaxed and friendly day is open to everyone. We are very lucky to have our own ‘artist in residence’, Richard Foulkes, who sings with the bass section at High Peak Singers.

Led by Richard and soprano Sarah, the day is designed to be relaxed, welcoming and suitable for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced artists.

The session will take place on Saturday 20th June between 9.30am and 3.30pm. There is a £10 charge per person to help cover room hire costs.

You are welcome to attend for the full day or just the morning or afternoon sessions.

For those completely new to painting with watercolours, there will be optional beginner-friendly teaching sessions running:

• Morning session: 10am – 11am *fully booked*
• Afternoon session: 1pm – 2pm

Experienced artists are very welcome to bring their own materials and work independently throughout the day. If you already have your own paints and smock, even better!

Completed artwork can be shared on the Voices of the Peaks Instagram and website.

Light refreshments will be available to purchase from the estate café, or you are very welcome to bring your own lunch.

Parking at Longshaw can be limited, so car sharing is encouraged. Parking is free for National Trust members.

Public transport links are also available via:

• Hope Valley train line (Grindleford station)
• High Peak buses (65 Stagecoach bus and Peak Sightseer Blue Route)

Full details about the location can be found at Longshaw, Burbage & the Eastern Moors | National Trust

Please note that filming and photography may take place during the day as part of the Voices of the Peaks project documentation. Do let us know if you would prefer not to appear on camera.

Bookings are non-refundable.
